Truett was in the mountains

Last month, we had the privilege of going with a group to Colorado for a few days.
The house we stayed in was, well, amazing.
Beautiful mountains surrounded us, & Truett had no idea.
So, I made some memories for him;).

Truett, at 8 months, chillin' by the mountains in Breckenridge.

He was pretty thrilled to be there.
My little cutie:).
And his hat? Thanks to my sis.
Short trip, we were a little sad to leave, but grateful for great people & a great time.

A little snow story

 Hey, remember when it snowed?
Back at Christmas?
These two could not get enough of it.

Strike a pose.
My children are obviously from Texas.
Their mama has no idea how to buy proper snow gear.
But they sure looked cute all bundled up in their makeshift winter garb.

Once upon a time, Parker tried to climb an icy wall.
Hmm.

Then wised up & followed her brother up the much less icy ladder.
"Hey mom! It's snowing!"

After her brother very politely informed her mother of the snow fall, Parker decided to be brave on a snowy slope (aka the slide).
She got stuck.

As she prepared for her 2nd attempt, safely inside the snow fort, her father took his opportunity to strike. Snowball style.
In his jammies.
Nice one.

Out of all the Mershawn's...this guy loves the snow best.
He was quite proud of the snowball he threw. At his children.
And. He was laughing, because he may or may not have nailed a little girl.
Which added to her drama delight. Wait, what?

As Parker tried to retaliate on her daddy, her mom found better things to do than freezing to death in a snow fort.
Snuggly snugglers.

And Tucker?
Totally smitten with snow.
And 20 minutes later was forced to come in to warm his red hands, wipe his face & shed his soaking clothes.
That boy knows how to play!
The end. :)

Baby Man's First Year {Truett 8 months}

2 posts in 1 week?
I'm on a roll :).

Mr. Truett, at 8 months you are a mover.
Right at 8 months you became a hands & knees, all over the place crawler.
And soon after you were pulling up onto your knees on any surface in your reach.
The best part about you crawling everywhere? You follow me like a little puppy.
And then I squeeze you.

 You've become a squealer. A loud one.
Fits right in.
You love anything made of paper that you can scrunch up & chew on.
You also are beginning to really enjoy books.
I love that.
You love looking at yourself in the mirror. I think you know your pretty awesome.

You are fascinated with teeth brushing & bath time.
You get extremely excited when you are carried into the bathroom & get a tad disgruntled if you don't end up in the tub.
You are officially sitting up in a big tub for bath time.
I think that has a lot to do with your bath time obsession.
Feeling like a big boy. Stop it.

You are super ticklish & kick your feet non stop.
Your favorite meal of the day is dinner & you love green beans. Just like your Tuck brother.
You're not super fond of your high chair.
And you think you can eat anything we can.
Your a baby. Remember?

And, you are too cute for words.
At the end of this month you are pulling up to your feet on everything within reach & teasing us with cruising around.
Sigh. I just packed up a load of clothes you grew out of too fast.
I would keep you like this forever, but really am so excited to keep figuring you out & seeing what God has put inside you. I am honored to be your mama.
You are a tremendous blessing to your family & you may be rotten because of it.
You are greatly loved, little Bear.

Baby Man's First Year {7 months}

Sheesh. I just can't stay on top of things anymore.
I'm not giving up. But trying harder still isn't working.
Whatever. I just keep telling myself, I'll get there.
And I will. In the mean time, I'm eating up my sweet baby.
I just can't get enough of this boy.
He is 9 months now. So, here's to catching up!

Oh my little Bear baby. You are simply summed up as completely adorable.
You are constantly happy.
At 7 months you are a wiggly little guy, but completely content in our arms (especially mine).

You're not quite sitting by yourself, although, you totally can.
You just really like to flop on your belly & push up on your hands & knees.
Making your mama appreciate every moment that you stay immobile.

I've been a bit slower to start you on solid food than with your sister & brother.
Mostly because I'm being lazy. Also because you are a baby. And baby's don't need solid food.
Call it procrastination, call it denial. I call it smart!
But, you are a great little eater now.
You love oatmeal cereal & are starting to appreciate it mixed with apples or green beans.

You still smile with your eyes. And your cheeks. You can see you smiling from behind you with those sweet cheeks sticking out. They get covered in kisses all day long.
You love to grab my hair, eat our faces, & call dadadadada.
You love your ball toys, anything you can chew on, & you really love your squeaky giraffe toy.
You're starting to drink from a sippy cup, which is impressive to your sis & bro. They think you are equal parts of awesome & hilariousness.

By the end of this month you mastered the art of sitting.
Then pushing up to sit from your belly.
Then going from sitting to your hands & knees.
Then to army crawling.
Geez. That was fast.
You tease us with pulling up constantly, just barely unable to pull up quite yet.
And if you did, I might just have to sit on you.
You're a baby, remember?!?!
I love you my little 3rd baby.
With all of my heart.
