I have 3 kids...

and am so very blessed.

The day after Thanksgiving, we always go cut down our Christmas tree.
I had a few minutes to waste while Mitchel waited to load up our tree, & they were all happy.
So I took my opportunity & came away with these.
Oh my heart.
I love those guys.
Tree pictures (hopefully) soon:).

Baby Man's First Year {Truett 5 & 6 months}

My baby is now 6 months.
How does this happen so fast?
Ugh. Excuse me while I go squish him, before he's 16...

Truey bear...you are uncontainable joy in a tiny package.

At 5 months, you love moving your hands around & around, like revving a motorcycle.
While your hands wiggle, your right foot kicks like crazy.
You smile at any and everyone who talks to you.
Which makes them want to keep on & on. Like your sister & brother, who, once they know you'll smile at something they do, NEVER stop. They love you & it is sweet.
You've also started grabbing for things you want within reach.

You still say da-da all the time, but now you love to screech it too.
You also make lots of other sounds, & it's so fun to hear.
Your rolling has not stopped & at 5 months you are still waking up once a night to eat.
You're also wearing 6-12 month clothes & are in a size 3 diaper.
The size your sister wore at a year.
Whatever. ;)
And...you're starting to prefer your mom.
Melt my heart.

Now. 6 months, my man, has changed you.
You are now sleeping 9 hours at night, just all of a sudden dropping your middle of the night feeding.
*Babywise rocks*
That also means, you've officially moved into your room; nap & night.
I'm still not crazy about that.

You've started sitting more independently, love to dive forward for a toy, & can roll your way to something you want.
You've started eating oatmeal cereal...slowly.
Partly because you're not crazy about it, partly because I'm being lazy.
Sorry bud...I'll work on that;).

 You are a smiling machine.
Gummy grins fill our days & we all love it.
You had your first fever this month (sad), your first Thanksgiving (oh my, you were loved on), & have invented a new favorite past time: putting your fist in your mouth & moving it back & forth while you yell. Makes an awesome sound.
Impressive my son... & it totally thrills your sister & brother.

Your hair is filling in a lot more now.
I like to spike it in front, but your spike is getting too long now.
We've embraced the combed over look, which, is, I must say, totally adorable on your sweet head.
You've also started a new wiggle dance.
You do it while we hold you, while you sit in a seat & when you're rolling around on the floor.
I can't decide if it's a dance or if you're trying to move.
I'm going with dancing.
Cuz it's awesome if it's dancing:).
You are an amazing baby, my Truett.
Completely grateful you're ours.
Happy 1/2 a year!

Baby Man's First Year {Truett 4 months}

Well. Here I am. I know. He's almost 5 months.
Let's just say, our internet has been quite irritating over the last month.
That is all. Let's move on to a much cuter subject than aggravating internet service...

Truey Bear.

Little mister, you are a busy little growing man.
This month has been full of first's for you.
Sitting unassisted (for about 5 seconds), learning to put yourself to sleep (or to talk to yourself in your bed), saying "dadadada...",

rolling from your belly to your back (you're now able to roll multiple times in a row, which means I've found you in a couple of funny places already), & you love your hands.

We can't get enough of your gummy grins, your sweet giggles, & your giddy joy.
You learned how to kick your feet really hard in your bouncy seat, which has resulted in a couple of near dangerous falls & panicky moments for your slightly (ahem) forgetful mama.
It is now etched in my memory to LOCK you in those seats. Yikes.

You are such a breath of fresh air to our family.
Your smile lights up a room & your shrieks of delight can change a 2 year old's mood like the snap of a finger. Your whole family thinks you're plain, old awesome.
Also. I'm quickly becoming your favorite.
That could be a problem. Baby baby.
When I sing to you, you smile so big, I think your face might break.
You also try to kiss my face, all the time. Or at least that's what I call it when you're planting your entire mouth on parts of my face.
I have never looked so good wrapped around someone's tiny finger;).
Dad's definitely a favorite too. And, much to their delight, so are Miss P & Tuck.
We'll love you forever.
Happy 4 (almost 5) months!

Baby Man's First Year {Truett 3 months}

Well. Another baby. Growing up on me.
Sheesh. These kids...

I love this guy.
I'm totally obsessed.
Truett, you're our baby rock star.

You're a rolly, smiley, drooly, cuddly sweetheart.

You're still long.
And your thighs & ankles are chubb-ilicious.
For real. People want to eat 'em.

You're so friendly.
You smile at any one who talks to you.
Which makes everyone feel so special.

You started giggling this month.
You even laugh in your sleep sometimes.
Dad & I think you will be our funniest or happiest kid.
Or maybe both.

You're still waking up once a night.
But, I really don't mind. At. All.
Sweet 3rd baby...

You love to talk.
And you make the cutest faces when you do.
Your sister loves to sing you made up songs.
Which you smile at.
Your brother thinks you are hilarious.
Which you smile at.
Your daddy likes to talk to you in silly voices.
Which you smile at.
Your mama likes to squish you & get in your face.
Which you smile at.
I'll love you forever.

Sister & Brothers

I grew up with one sister.
Lots of pink, ponytails, fingernail painting, hairspray, & fluff.

No boys.
Except for my 5 boy cousins.
They came to visit, it was fun, but once they left, the wrestling was turned off the tv & the testerone level dropped by the gallon full.

Fast forward quite a few years.
And, my house is a different site.
I always loved the thought of having brothers when I was younger, but really was perfectly content with my one sister.
She was a spit fire. Really was all the brother I needed I suppose.
;)

But, when we started having kids, I was ready for boys.
My husband is one of 3.
I knew it would be my future. And I was excited.
Then. Parker came.
And having a girl was, amazing.
Pink, sweet, happiness.

Then it happened.
2 1/2 years later. Boy #1.
Having a boy. Equally amazing.
Blue, sweet happiness.

Now that we have 2 baby boys in our busy little house, I have to say, I'm thrilled for my girl to be a big sister to this rowdy crew.
I have no idea what our future will look like.

But I know it will be loud, a little wild, & really cute.
Because this girl & these boys are pretty much the cutest things I've ever seen.

And, she'll be the one in charge.
For sure.
At least in her eyes.

And he'll be the one making sure she doesn't have it too easy.

And together, I'm a little afraid what they'll teach that baby brother, who's full of sweetness, & who's mom would like to keep him that way.

Our life is pretty awesome.
With our sister & brothers.

The posing, trickster, happy bunch of them.
Now, I should go see that they're not up to something...
never a dull moment.

I have full hands

I once read on a mom's blog that she gets tired of hearing how full her hands are once people see how many children she has.

That instead of people noticing how many kids she has, they'd notice how richly she'd been blessed.

Now, when I get those comments, once people see my little ones under foot...

as one chats my ears off, & another runs away in play (liking the panic he causes in me), & the other smiles sleepily on my shoulder,

 I remember her words.

 And I smile to myself.

 Because I know a secret...

I do have full hands, because I am truly & richly blessed.
And I am grateful, because it didn't have to be this way.

"For the Mighty One is holy, and He has done great things for me."

Baby Man's First Year {Truett 2 months}

Little Truey Bear.
2 months already?
Sigh.
You are pure sweetness.

And sooo long.

At 2 months, you still watch the world around you with peace & patience.
You like to follow people around with your eyes.
Especially that sister & brother.
Mom & Dad aren't so bad either.

You're a talker.
Oh, the joy of a newborn being noisy.
You fit right in with this loud bunch.
But, your favorite is when dad, mom or Parker talk back to you.
That usually brings a big smile & a really cute squeal.

You have the sweetest smiles...

that you give out all day long.
I love that gummy, drooly grin.

You're calm, cuddly, a mover, trying to roll over already, & seriously cute.

Your hair is fuzzy.
Your feet little & long.
Your hands, quick to grasp whatever is put in them.

You weigh 14 pounds already.
You're already over 25 inches long.
You're a pretty great sleeper.
And...you've stolen my heart.
You're an awesome 3rd baby.
Thanks for that.
I'm going to go squish you now...

Baby Man's First Year {Truett 1 month}

*Disclaimer: Yes. I know. My son is now 2 months old.
But...my computer battery died. Like for real. Deader than a door nail. Whatever that means.
Then, the new battery wouldn't charge. Grr.
Then it finally charged & the internet wouldn't work.
Double grr.
Now, it all seems to be working, which means, I'm back at it. I know. That makes you so happy;).
And on with why I'm really here...

 Truey Bear.
What a sweet guy you are.
Your first month was filled with...

 faces that melted our hearts.
And made us laugh.

Reminders of how fascinating brand new babies are.
And how much joy they fill our house with.

 Lots of sweet, sleepy moments.
And, lots & lots of cuddly time.

A baby who found his little voice.
And made us giggle with delight.

Hanging out & following me wherever I went.
And reminding me how much I missed having a little baby buddy with me every second of the day.

But mostly, your first month was spent, wrapping your family around your tiny, little finger.
We are all, totally & completely in love with you, little baby.
Your smiles make us feel so special.
Your coos fill us all with joy.
You bring constant happiness to us all & we are so grateful to call you ours.
Oh, & you're also BIG.
Cutie.
